Why does Quiri tell me a different temperature than what's shown when asking for the weather?
You may be running an outdated version of the app. Older versions displayed weather using Spotlight Search which did not update very often. Try opening Quiri (or the App Store if you purchased it from there) and checking for updates.

Why is the App Store version cheaper?
Apps in the App Store must be sandboxed. Sandboxing is a security technology from Apple that limits how apps can interact with outside resources. As a result, there are certain features that we could not include in the App Store (sandboxed) version. The version on our website is not sandboxed and includes more features, thus it costs more. We are actively exploring alternative ways to introduce the missing functionality in the App Store version that is sandbox-compliant, however, all of the most-used features are already included. If you downloaded the App Store version and did not realize that there was a difference, you can contact us to get the website version. You will need to pay the difference in price. You might also decide to just use the App Store version, and wait to see if we add new features in the future.

Can I say a command without Quiri being open?
The Quiri app has to be running in order for you to submit a command, but if you minimize Quiri's window or if it's hidden by another window, you can still say a new command by clicking on Quiri's icon in your Mac's menu bar, which is alongside other menu icons in the upper right corner of the screen. Click on the microphone icon, and then click "New Quiri Request."

How many different ways can I start a new command?
Four. You can press the Quiri button (microphone with a circle around it) at the bottom of the Quiri window, or you can press the return key on your keyboard when Quiri is the frontmost window. You can also click the Quiri menu bar icon, and then click "New Quiri Request." In Quiri 1.1 and later, you can even say "Hey Quiri" (you can change the phrase in Preferences) to start a request without touching your Mac at all.

I don't think the voice sounds quite right...
Quiri works best using the "Samantha" voice, but this voice is not installed on OS X by default. You can go to System Preferences > Dictation & Speech > Text to Speech > System Voice > Customize to download it. Once downloaded, Quiri will use this voice instead.

How does phone calling work using Quiri?
Quiri utilizes FaceTime to make calls. You can either do a video call, or an audio-only call, but the other user needs to have FaceTime. Any iOS device with a front-facing camera can receive video calls, and any device running iOS 7 or later can receive FaceTime Audio calls. For Macs, any Mac with a camera that is running Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.6) or later can receive video calls, and any Mac running OS X Mavericks (10.9) or later can receive FaceTime Audio calls.
